That is what I was wondering also....because it did not specify on duty hours or not. However, we all know that TransAm drivers do not work 9 to 5, you will be driving on many different schedules depending on pick ups and deliveries. The closest thing to an answer that I could find was that it worked in conjunction with the GPS .....if the GPS is working the monitoring is working. Then if you go to some of the articles about companies that use these systems and read what they say ....for instance that they use these for driver training and behavior modification or intervention, you begin to realize that it is a bit more complex than just being triggered by an event. Neither one of these companies said that the monitoring was set up on specific parameters, such as the key being in the ignition. Both of them do offer additional add on monitoring services .... I do realize that I am reading between the lines somewhat and piecing together information from the supply companies and their customers.... and how these carriers have used the information that they gained through the use of cameras.

That is the thing, isn't it? Where exactly does it stop? What is next? One of these companies is working on a face recognition program that would be able to detect signs of fatigue. While you may be on duty for 14 hours, you are responsible for that truck and the load for 24 hours .....maybe drivers will be required to wear ankle bracelets to monitor their whereabouts. ...That sounds far-fetched and far-reaching, but who knows?oliver2 and Panhandle flash Thank this.

well it was a long day circling the city of angels slowly
took my 30 minute break on the I 5
heading to Lowes in Cheyenne
TransAm has me going across on 70
so of course I will go up 15 to 80
visit the Mormons on the way
because I have never been thru SLC -
Oh lord, no way would I run 70 just to get to 25 then 80. Good move on taking 15. SLC is nothing exciting. A little bit of driving in butt-dragging hills when you get on 80 then a clean shot. I am still sitting in Cheyenne. I dont pick up til 10pm in Greeley. About to head down to Johnson's Corner for some breakfast. Where I will take another 10. Gonna try and at least sleep part of the day. Ive been on a clockwork awake during the day sleep all night schedule. Now this is messing me up. I got a good nights sleep so wont be able to sleep during the day. But then. Gotta pick up late tonight and run all night. Blah.

Stand by to be underwhelmed. Cars entering the interstate while merging with traffic have the right of way in UT.

Good morning all just want to share how im doing. I was picked up by my coach on Saturday and we were dispatched immediately we pick up out first load and headed to omaha neb. then to iowa and it wasnt so bad got driving time and i was doing ok some what was still learni g to have better control of the truck. The second day i did a lot better. Started having more control and was a lil bit more comfortable which is what i want to feel. Then we picked up a load and headed NE to Mass. That when we ran on I-84 and witnessed two accidents. The first was lite traffic then when we got to NYS Thru way things got really bad with heavy rain and another accident ahead of us. Well we lasted 3 hour waiting for authorities to clear way for the coming traffic. Lets just say it was really bad. 4 cars and two tractor trailer and it was a mess. I Pray that no one really got seriously injured but from the looks of it it looked deadly. If anyone knows what happened there id like to know the out come. I just know it was really ugly.

Good morning everyone. Badboy I thought about you yesterday and wondered how things were going for you. How do you like your coach? I don't know about the accident, if I see anything about it I will let you know. Where are you going in Mass.? Husband always had pretty good luck there, many of the receivers were driver friendly. Usually the deliveries and pick ups were done in a timely way, no long waits in between.
Honeybadger, what did you have to do with all of the greens? -
My coach is great im kearning a lot from him and we just keft Lynn Mass. Headed to NY as for the reciever where we went to unload idk he seemed okay but with an attitude lol but we got there late due to the Accident and we waited about 4 hour to unload the reefer

I don't remember Husband ever being to Lynn, Mass.. Things have already changed since he left, which is good, it means freight is picking up for you all. I am so glad that you got a coach that you like ....it makes it much better for you!
