Hi, I work for a bread bakery, Bimbo's, USA, and they informed us that they were installing cameras in the big rigs for safety purposes. I know they have the right to do so but I was wondering, do I have the right to wear a Halloween mask while I drive to show my protest to the cameras ? Also, if a driver in good standing, declares the cameras bother him or her to a point where it is a distraction, can he put an item in front of it to block it ? This is going to raise a ton of privacy/safety issues in the near future. Thanks
Cameras inside the cab that watch the driver.

Have a rational conversation with the boss, don't get all emotional, explain how it would negatively impact your work performance. Being watched 24/7 tends to do that. If the higher ups will not be accommodating, and cite insurance reasons, let it go. Bring the topic back up in a week, and keep on at it until they know that you will keep on pestering. Basically, go kinda passive aggressive on it...

If it only records when tripped by hard braking, etc. then just cloud the lens w/ some colored nail polish.
They won't be able to prove you did it unless it was recording.

Once they purchase the cameras, there is no chance in getting rid of them in this economy. I would state whatever you want to say before the purchase, because afterward they are here to stay. If they bother you that much I'd look for another job.

They record all the time, or they would not capture anything. If there is an event it will mark that file so it will not record over it.

Are some of you blind.?..This is all about LIABILITY and LAWSUIT PROTECTION..This is a form of protection for the big company owners pocketbooks..
This was a good idea at one point. Then it trickled into ''driver privacy issues''..That's the real problem here. All you have to get is some over zelous saftey jerk off to infringe on the drivers privacy. That is where the problems started with the camera on board.
I wish they would just FIRE us all and put robots in these trucks and save many people alot of B/S...geargrinder and cetanediesel Thank this. -
Make sure you wear your seat belt, or "claim faulty equipment" on pre-post trip inspections.

Unless I'm a bus driver, I will "Not" allow a camara being pointed on me all the time I'm in my truck.
