Recently purchased my 1st truck and beginning my O/O career with Comtrak Logistics. Comtrak runs an Intermodal division as well as a dry-van division. I applied to Comtrak so I could get acquainted with the O/O aspects and so I could get home more often without sacrificing my pay. I understand that we cant believe everything we are told so what better way to find out?! I'll be running the dry-van division being dispatched from Memphis and will run mostly in the southeast region to get home more often. my truck is paid off so I will not have to worry about truck notes each month so hopefully everything will go good and I will be with the company for a great deal of time. Will keep everyone posted as I will begin orientation for Comtrak in Atlanta on August 12th!!

Welcome I've been here for over a year so if you need help or have questions let me know. I'm also part of the van division so we may cross paths.

Orientation went alright, I had to postpone orientation another week due to not having everything lined up but Comtrak didn't have any issues with it. So I went thru orientation this past Monday and Tuesday and then rode with another O/O around Atlanta for Acouple days to get acquainted with the paperwork and QC here at Comtrak. The QC wasn't too hard, I knew everything about the QC as far as logging goes from my years with Millis. So I just have to relearn the new Macros as that's the only thing different. And there is a great deal of paperwork compared to last company (Millis). But it could be that it's just new and trying to get the feel of everything so it may not be quite as bad once I get the swing of it. Thanks for the reply trucknbabygirl, where do you run mostly?? I was told I may run a good bit of Sears out of Pendergrass but time will tell!

I'm on the Home Depot Account. I run out of Whitestown In to were ever a HD store is with multiple drops. I love it light loads no appts and good miles. I've run Sears loads but out of Olive Branch Ms and those loads were mostly in containers. Short miles delivering to stores. As for paperwork yes it can be a bit much but not really if using fuel card to don't needed to send in receipts. Send copy of bol and as for driver envelopes I put name truck # branch I'm under and trips. Make sure to fill out for dh miles some payroll personal will only pay what is written in the envelope. I scan my bills I'm on either sat or sun but most want daily scans or when mty. I tend to do it all at one time. Is Ryan or David going to be your dispatch. Both cool but David can be slow at times. Good luck

I haven't talked with anyone in Memphis yet. I finished riding with another O/O on Friday and by the time we made it into the terminal in Austell, Ga., Eric (Safety) had already gone home for the weekend, so I talked to Danny Such (Terminal Manager) and he told me to just call Memphis on Monday Morning because I can't get logged into the Comtrak Infinit-I to take the safety courses online so may be side lined tomorrow because I'm not in their system yet! So I see your out of Florida, how often do you get home??

When I first got here I made it close or by my house more then I wanted lol. But I like being out and so I tend to go home about every other month. But when I go home I usually stay a week or more. I take about 4 weeks of at the end of year and a week or two in July for my b'day.

    Frank Acavano Thanks this.

10-4... Well I'm not looking to be home all the time but I recently got married so wife wants me home more than 2-3 days a month so we will see how that goes. Well maybe we'll cross paths out on the road somewhere!! My truck is the one in my signature. Truck# 38720. CB handle is Whitey. Feel free to give me a shout if you see me somewhere!

You run on the home depot account out of IN, but live in FL? This isn't doubting you, but trying to get a feel for if opportunities are limited according to where I live for things like this.

I live pretty much half way between chattanooga and atlanta on off of i75 and am very curious about comtrak and in particular comtrak and hometime.
