    I know my history,

The British gave birth to this country as we see it today (except Quebec lol) and we were under their rule when all these shenanigans went down. We retaliated not only because some of our govt. buildings got torched but because of the american forces indiscriminate burning of private buildings and destruction of private property along lake Erie.

Typing BRITISH it in bold does not change what my ancestors did :) and if you want to be real technical about it... The Province of Upper Canada and their friends from the motherland burnt down your white house.

Aaaanyways that was two hundred years ago and I'm sure someone from our side has sent a letter of apology for burning down such a beautiful building a one point or another in that time lol

enough with history or we might end up digressing to WWII and that wouldn't end well hehe

    Shaggy Thanks this.

Love how you all are blaming CRST because this driver was totally unprepared. It's not the company's job to clothe, feed and tuck the drivers in at night. Every one of you knows how it is coming off home time. Plus, this is his first week. He should have planned better.

No, but it IS the company's job to get me loads so that the truck moves and I make money. I kind of lack the freedom to do that for myself with a company truck. So, my hometime ended on Monday, I didn't get a load until next Wednesday. (if you're keeping score, that's 10 days of no work at all, 15 days until payday, which I made nothing thanks to advances, tomorrow I actually get into the positive again, so that's 17 days of no income.

The truck stop, like most of them, were nowhere near any other options for food or anything, and company rules, that truck had to stay where it was until they said it's OK. So buying a cooler and food wasn't a choice, and in case you missed it, I don't have a working fridge, or any equipment to cook, so food choices are very limited.

So you're right, I didn't prepare, because obviously the right answer was to know that I was being rushed out of my house to get to a truck with no intention of moving me for at least a week, and brought more money than I actually had, cuz, you know, obviously I ran out of money during that time.

But no, it's not CRSTs fault for not giving me a load, it's not like I have a job where I can't just go home every night and eat, meaning that I don't need a paycheck or anything. And bills don't come up during that time either, cuz we all know that all you have to do is call the electric company and tell them "my job isn't giving me any loads, so I can't make any money" and they're going to just tell you "Don't worry, focus on eating and we won't shut off your electricity at home"... No, reality happens and you either pay that bill or your family lives in the dark.

The unexpected happens, we're not all independently wealthy like you.

And what happened to me was I was way over the data on my account so I stayed offline a few days. Still living on advances though, still pointnig out every night that we need this fridge fixed.

there are tons of foods that don't need a fridge, a fridge is helpful, but not a necessity.

Yeah, but with the ####### of a codriver I have, I haven't been in any position yet where I can get to a store, they're always closed, or I'm in the middle of the desert. It's not a necessity, but there's a lot of foods that I can't eat. And the cheapest way to eat is just raw vegetables and fruits, which are very cheap for the amount you get at a time, but they also tend to go bad really fast. But when you only have $20, and the codriver stops at a Pilot, and you haven't eaten since yesterday.... It's not easy to not buy food there.

Going forward where you can get any money do all you can to make it count and stretch it. Get a couple 20 oz plastic bottles or bigger and refill with water at fountains. Buy the cheap stuff. If you're lucky there will be a Dollar Tree or Dollar General around. If so go there and look for what they have for $1. I know they have things like crackers and stuff and in the past I've lived on those when times were tough myself.

When you get stuck at Burger King or those places only eat off of the value menu for $1 or near it. Don't get those $5 or $6 value meals. If you had to you could eat a double cheeseburger a day for $1 - $1.50. You'll be hungry still and it isn't healthy but you won't die as it has about 600 calories and will keep you alive and functional.

I don't know the whole situation but it sounds like you have to avoid those advances somehow or you'll never get out. Good luck.
