Thank you for this report on Gazelle. I'm on my 2nd day of serious job-searching and came across the job ad for them. "Too good to be true" usually is, isn't it. Again, thank you for saving me the time so I can "keep it serious."
Warning, Gazelle Transportation

Very stupid people they hire an agent that decides your employment and from what i found out they have never heard of DAC let alone the DMV .a Bunch of clueless pencil pushers that have no idea how to hire people.Total Waste of time.
-
I got hired with them, havent started working yet im on my 2 week notice still. My current job cant be worse than Gazelle plus Gazelle is 35 miles closer! Crude hauling usually pays real good so I dont know why everyone is bad mouthing Gazelle. I havent met any crude hauler who doesnt make more than 70k so u can bad mouth all u want Ill see fr myself.
MoneyCat Thanks this. -
most companys always have stupid people who dont have any experience doing the hiring the pencil ushers whats so different when Gazelle does it?
-
I have to take issue with the fact they don't use DAC. Some of the best companies don't use DAC because they know anybody can put negative vindictive comments on a drivers report and it stays there forever.
DAC is about the lowest scum on the earth. So if Gazelle doesn't use DAC that is actually a point in their favor.BigJon310 and Western flyer Thank this. -
Good luck with them. The first 3 months were great, the next 3 months were okay, as the terminal manager they hired for Wyoming had no clue what crude hauling involved.
then they decided to hire twice as many drivers as they needed to haul the volume of oil we are hauling, and cut everyone's pay to LESS than $70k a year. And Gazelle is LOCKED into shell only, can not haul for any other marketer.
The pattern continues with each terminal they open. Expanding fast, not taking care of business, or equipment, and then moves on to open next terminal.... They are now cutting benefits, taking company trucks away from the managers, all signs that they are bleeding cash.
And the latest cut to pay is the new 5/2 and 5/3 schedule... with 6 guys rotating between two trucks. So this way the driver only works 10 days out of the 15 day pay period. -
In my opinion he did... my trainer was down in Hobbs opening that terminal... He has been with Gazelle for 6 years, and will be moving on as soon as he gets his "longevity" bonus.Giggles the Original Thanks this.

started with Gazelle a week ago. Like what I see so far

It's the same at every crude outfit I've worked for. They get a bunch of crude bought up and they can't get them all hauled by the end of the month and hold some over. Next thing you know they hire a bunch extra hands to get it picked up by the end of the month. Then that big check you been getting cause y'all are shorthanded and your working before sun up to after dark gets cut down cause they over hired. Which the oil operators were on them to get the oil out or they will swap who they sale too so they hired up. Same ole story and will never change. The old hands on here already know that. You new guys will get a fresh lesson on crude 101 and how cut throat company's can be toward their hands. Your company doesn't care if you haul two loads or four a day as long as it gets hauled. And if they need twice the drivers then they will find them. It's like old hand told me years ago " any monkey can do it ".
Rant overBigJon310, TLeaHeart and RockinChair Thank this.
