Sept is sappose to be our best month. Being in st joe u should have no problem going thru the house. I have done 2000 miles for aweek couple times and still brought home about a grand for that week. But i got good mpg and ran my fuel down lower then filled up on next load for the following week.

Thanks for your reply i know act slow time is coming fast and even in the slow time it is not hard to bring a grand home as long as you watch your mpg

Keep in mind that January/February is a fairly slow freight time. If you come on board then, it will be harder to cover your bases if you don't have an adequate cash cushion for home expenses. There are a few loads that deliver up in St. Jo, and a several that come out of there. Also, going home every 7 to 10 days, will have an impact on your bottom line.
We live in OK, not far from I-35 and I-44. Average time between seeing hubby....10 days. Average time between actual hometime markers 3 to 5 weeks. We try to time resets so that they can happen at home. Often we'll just tell dispatch, get me a load thru home w/ time for a reset. It's not "actual" hometime, but it's time at home w/ me and the kids. Since Aug 1, he's had several days home for our oldest's bday, and a day and a half for a family funeral, with hometime set for the middle of this week. Apparently, tomorrow we'll have been married for 14 years. Since my bday is 6 days after the anniversary, we are going half in two, and celebrating both when he gets home. (In the past we had the time but not the $$ to celebrate both properly. Now we have the $$ but not the time, ROFL). In theory, we could just take the whole week off and do it all up right, but ....... that would make for a happy wife for a few days.....right until the monthly bills started rolling in.
Our *actual* average take home (before putting money into savings for Uncle Sam) is around $1050/week, over the first 37 weeks of the year. There are bad weeks, there are good weeks and there are GREAT weeks. *MOST* of the "bad" weeks were from hometime, or emergencies at home. Stuff happens: the water tank blows up, someone dies, the goats smash the water pipe into the house, the kid graduates. Now, some might say that this is chump change. And for some folks it is. BUT...we are coming from over a decade of $550/week. To pay the exact same bills we have to pay now. Well, college is a new bill, but you know what I mean. We're doing fine. Of course, we try to live within our means, as well. No credit card. The car is paid for. We only have the mortgage for the land and house. Plus regular bills. And college for the oldest. -
Well when i say home i ment to takea 34 to a 48 hour off not a weekor more dont make any money sitting at the house i save that for vacation

Our actual hometime tends to be about 48 hours, also. But getting home for a 10 or a 34 while on load is sweet. But it helps that (as long as it hasn't been raining) we can park the truck in the driveway.

I turned mine in and old Dave figured out how to bleed my account totally dry plus a extra 2500 bucks. So you can think what you want about them. But once he gets his truck back you wont get your maintenance account back.
