Hope he had good insurance, they look like new/newer vehicles. -
Man oh man...I'd sure hate to be that guy.

I was reading on another forum that this guy was hauling for uship and didn't have the needed authority so if that's true he is really having a bad week. I hear a lot of these guys just have a pickup and trailer and start pulling without DOT or MC# numbers. Uship does not check companies out and claim they are just a website that post runs and it's up to the shipper to check for proper authority, gee's. If all of this is true it looks like the DOT would have a field day.
c64basic Thanks this. -
Looks like the cars were already wrecked! I don't know that is not good. I hope it turns out OK.
-
Maybe now they will start looking at them as well as DOT who seem to have a blind eye.KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.

It seems the DOT just want's to bust the hard working O/O. The last time I had a level 3 the inspector seemed upset because he could not find anything wrong. HOS is not a problem if they would let you log 90MPH.

Uship? Wonder if it was a guy on Shipping Wars....
-
it's not uships job to check, it's the shippers.

Mmmm, I think that's what I said. Fact is most shippers don't know what to expect most are thinking it's like UPS or Fed-X, they just call and they handle it. Most shippers don't read all the small print and really don't know what is expected of transporter. One case that I was reading about was a car being shipped from Va to Az, shipper picked cheapest bid and somewhere along the way the transporters brakes caught fire and the load of cars were burned up totally and transporter did not have insurance to cover the loss so needles to say shipper lost his 2007 Chrysler won on ebay. It is said shipper thought he was covered because transporter listed on his profile he had insurance. It is true he had the million dollar policy required by DOT but this does not cover cargo and shipper found out corporate headquarters was the sleeper of his freightliner. I like to readfeedbacks on the brokers and one that I found the broker had 333 total loads pulled and out of that he had 116 negative feedbacks listing a long list of complaints. Running a company that does not have checks and balance system there will be scammers and outlaws. We know better and would check out who we trust our shipments with but the general public does not know these things. If you let someone use your board it only takes a minute to check transporters authority so it seems they are part of the problem but then again it's just me thinking so what do I know, I've only been driving 53 years.Noggin Thanks this.
