Are Ready mix trucks only required 8 hours off? or do they have to be off 10 hours between shifts. I know they have a 24 hour restart.
Do you run illegal on your logs?

I try to log it like I run it. We all need to wake to the fact that not only safety is involved, but every time we cheat our logs, run overweight, and take those runs that we know we can't do legally and say"I'll cover it" that we are just cheating ourselves as well as our fellow drivers. Yeah, yeah I know some of you are saying "that's the way it is","we have to to make a decent living",yes,I know I've been driving 25 yrs. BUT,If we really want a rate increase so we CAN make a decent living and support our familys we HAVE to stick together on this. As long as some of us are willing to stretch the rules big business,ie shippers and brokers,ARE NOT going to increase the rates. Why should they? "Hell, 'ol Joe trucker will run it this way if John trucker won't. So let's put the rate increase in our pockets" See the problem here Drivers?? We don't even need to have a strike. All we would have to do is run legal and log all the hours,EVEN THE ONES that we all cheat on - the ones spent loading and unloading. We can bring attention to this problem and the powers that be would look PLENTY FOOLISH punishing us for RUNNING LEGAL. WE could bring this off in less than 2 weeks, all it takes is doing it......something to think about. What do ya say drivers??

Actually what drivers would notice is everyone is getting loads more equally because John is taking all the loads while Joe is sitting to be legal and then when he is legal there is no freight. I wonder if this would indeed be true in the end.
What drivers should do is log it as they do it and see what happens! Now the guy running 5,000 miles a week to feed his 10 grandkids etc well he will just be short.
Just my humble opinion and your opinion is possibly true to -

Not sure what is required of a Concrete truck, but the 150 air mile radius is only for NON-CDL drivers. I know my boss thought the same thing for our truck drivers and I had to read closer into it. Just clarifying here -
