Depends on which one they put you up in. If you go to Best Western, you can pretty much walk to everything and anything. There is a walmart down the street, about a mile, and there is a truck stop and plenty of food choices around the corner.

If they put you in the Holiday Inn Express, you have a gas station,, kfc, a chinese food place, sonic drive in, and mcd's is across the highway...

Hubby stayed at Best Western for Orientation, and Holiday Inn Express after Coach, expect to share a room again.

Finally getting all my work done! Been at Kenworth since midnight, truck has been in the bay since 2am. But Kenworth warned me it would be an all-day thing. Kinda hoping they ate done in time for me to catch dinner at Happy Wok, lol.

JIC you didn't know, you can still get a CDL in some states, without learning how to use a clutch. Will just have a "automatic only" restriction on it.

I work for a regional company. One of our longest, "best" customers is a well-known national sporting goods store. We make pickups at their DC one day and make two early morning deliveries the next. The only hard and fast rule the stores have is not to be late. The two deliveries are always 4:00 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. and by 'late,' they mean 4:01 a.m. Naturally, we all plan on getting there earlier than 4:00 (making the second drop usually isn't a problem if we get to the 4:00 a.m. store on time and they unload on time).

Well, one night, I got to the store at 3:30 a.m. and waited. 4:00 came and went. 4:30 came and went 5:00 came and went and, of course, I'm now beginning to worry about making the second drop at 6:45 on time. I can't call dispatch because nobody is there until 6:30 a.m. and I don't have a local phone. It turns out the morning crew showed up late and made me late for my second drop...they do a manual breakdown of each pallet in the truck and unload one box at a time.

Want to guess who got blamed for being late? Yup. Me. Care to guess which company would NOT call the customer to remind them of the factual circumstances? Yup. Mine. The dispatcher's advice? Get there earlier next time....

    Sometimes it just doesn't matter.

Last week, I carried one very irritating fly from start to week's end. He would just NOT leave the cab. Windows open, day heat, night cold, no matter. Stupid fly.

Then I found him in my fridge on my grapes. And he died. Nobody - and certainly no stinking fly - is going to mess with my grapes. But I must respect his tenacity. And it did not matter as I killed him.

    I was beginning to wonder!:biggrin_25522:

I was worried about Husband .....haven't heard from him since Thursday ....I just knew the squirrels had him! According to dispatcher he should be home tonight. I think he needs a crash course in how to purchase and set up a new phone!
