Get it done ASAP.I live in PA had mine done a week before it expired and faxed in the self certification forms.A week later I get a new license in the mail. All was good til my wife called me on the road to let me know it was downgraded from a CDL to a regular license. In order to get my CDL back I needed to retest. It only took me a trip to DMV with my paperwork and the original fax receipt to get mine reinstated but if yours expired, depending on the state you are in some trouble.

I wouldn't suggest that. Those kind of physicals are not being accepted any longer by the DOT. I know someone personally that was told to NOT use his chiropractor any longer for DOT physicals. Be smart and just go to a doctor for it. I just paid $110 for mine.

Accepted practitioner, may be a Chiropractor, the one I go to is still doing them.

    She is quite thorough.

Dot physicals are simple. Some truck stops give them. I imagine you can buy one for with a two year expiration date if the price is right. I let mine expire a couple of times. Got inspected and they didn't even notice. My last one expired not long ago and they shut me down. It's all computerized these days.

That's incorrect info about Chiropractor physicals no longer being accepted! The DOT has started a National Registry of approved physicians, but it hasn't been fully implemented. The chiropractor I went to in June in CO in order to renew my CDL is on this list along with many others as well as nurse practitioners, physician assistants and MDs. You can go to www.fmcsa.dot.gov and investigate this.

As long as they're registered a chiropractor can still do physicals.

Well one of the driver that drives at my company just got his license suspended for a couple of weeks because he had an invalid med form done by a chiro last year.....also alot of the truck stop dr's if you haven't noticed are becoming fewer and farther between. As far as the fed med and your new license you will have to register your fed med card with your local DMV ....that is all part of the new " real ID " thingee that the fed decided to grace us with. Just had a level 3 the other day and even though the Diesel Bear knew that ours were connected to our license's he still wanted to see our cards......being the wise guy I am..I handed him my long form....LOL

Must have just been that particular chiro then because the guy had to redo his physical, per DOT. I doubt they will be accepted much longer though, as there has been things in the works to eliminate that option for awhile now.

I'll stick with my current doc and pay the $110 that he charges. It works better, and I don't have to look to see if he's registered, since I already know he is.
