I'm with you. This tablet has the same specs as the first gen Samsung Galaxy tab my company issued me. That thing will barely run copilot. I would gladly pay extra for a Google Nexus 7 and put the software on myself.

    Truckers Tablet

    System Specs:
    16Gb memory included! (8GB Built in + 8GB SD)
Flash memory: Built-in 8GB8 GB micro SD Memory included (upgradable to 32GB)Android OS (probably Ginger Bread)
    CPU: 1100MHZ
    SDRAM: DDR 512 MB
Expansion memory: MAX 32G (Giving total memory of 40GB)

    Nexus 7

    Processor and memory

16GB or 32GB internal storage (actual formatted capacity will be less)
    1 GB RAM
    NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 quad-core processor

    Features

    Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)
    4,325 mAh battery
    Accelerometer
    GPS
    Gyroscope
    Microphone
    Magnetometer

    @ cowboy_tech
COrrect me if I am wrong but I believe your Galaxay Tab came with Android 2 which would be more inline with what claytonr1973 was mentioning.
However the Truckers tablet runs Android 4 with built in GPS hardware and software. It is not the same

Another important note that no one has mentioned is that the GPS software on the Truckers Tablet has more features than most truck GPS units and has much faster response time as well.

Ginger bread. And it had a 1 GHz processor and 512mb of ram. And it has built in gps with WiFi and data connectivity.

    Side note...

My Galaxy Note II is four times the machine.

The Nexus 7 is only $229. Add Copilot for $150 and you have four times the machine for $130 more. The Nexus will be supported by Google, so no waiting for updates through a third party.

This is all correct. My samsung galaxy note 2 is 3 times the equipment that tablet is, get it from any phone provider for $200-250 with a service agreement.

I am MECP (mobile electronics certified pro) and when it comes to gadgets such as tablets, there's no "upgrading" hardware.
Best tablet on the market is a samsung for $499.00 and will last you a maximun of 5 years before being forced to upgrade to another device.

The galaxy Note II (a Phone) and Samsung tablet at $499 are 2-3 times the price of the Truckers Tablet and do not have the built in Truck GPS software.
Adding an app for another $150 puts it way higher in price.
Most people buying the Truckers Tablet are buying it for the Truck GPS that is built in, (and hard to beat).

"Most people buying the Truckers Tablet are buying it because they don't know any better."

    There, fixed that for you.

As a side note: You really had the potential to "get somewhere" in this forum... it's just that every single one of your posts reads like a desperate attempt to gain market share in a market that's already dominated by names like Rand McNally and Garmin. If you're going to fight in this game, you need to deliver a few knock-out punches. You have yet to do that.

If you really want to wow us, show us what makes your truck navigation app so stellar. What does the navigation app do that Garmin and RM don't?

Price point is largely irrelevant. The market is already accustomed to laying down the better part of $400 for a dedicated truck navigation tool and will continue to do so for the proven few.

    Zigzag777 Thanks this.

My phone... correction, any android device has google maps with navigation + over 500, 000 apps free over android market which by my comparison with RandyMcnally hoover and the Lowrance (marine gps maker) installed in my kw is not even 1 point off of easy to use and information. More over, I believe drivers should take a little class or spend an hour on Youtube learning how to use the google maps, then you'll be wowed and stay away from old technology being offered by companies wanting to "help us" with their cheap offers. A pawn shop would give you a $20 for a tablet with the specs mentioned on this thread. Why woukd I pay $250?

My posts are not pun intended nor personal, I'm tired of the laptop offers at the truck stops and tablets online that have been "recycled or REmanufactured or REconditioned"
Pop and mom buy those devices since they're available right there and then not knowing what they got.

You (company name here) going to offer US the professional drivers a product, dont insult us in our lack of information.

I learned something. Drivers are not as dumb as the public perceives us to be. Any neurosurgeons out there care to chime in.
