I have seen the DOT out in force around the Hartford, CT area for weeks now. They have at least 6 and as many as 12 state motor vehicle inspectors out pulling the trucks over for inspections. Then they pull them off the highway and into private parking lots. Looking to make the state some dollars. The new governor of the state is money hungry and has ordered them to be out there, and making the state money.
They could be posted in other areas as well, or relocated soon. But it is for sure that the governor has pushed for lots of fines.
Beware I-91 in CT. DOT on the rampage for weeks now in Hartford, CT area

Just got busted up there last week for having too much slack in my seat belt because of the comfort latch being engaged!!
lawyer says he can beat it but I hear the csa points wont go away??? -
Sorry to hear that. I tried to warn people.
I found out that they have been there since March on that section of I-91. That some of them sit on an overpass and look for seat belt violations. And then do a full inspection after they pull you over. That the Gov of the state ordered them out there to make the stat money. The Gov loves taxing people. -
I got an attorney up in bloomfield that took the case cause like I said I had the belt on
I am hoping to have a better chance of having the csa points removed if the case gets dismissed
which the lawyer seems confident he can -
I think you would have a better chance and spend less money if you went into the prosecutors office at the court and tell them that you will make a donation to some charity in lew of the fine. I bet they would go for it and drop the case. CT courts do that for some cases of motor vehicle charges. Especially weak cases.
