Ok. Starting this to chronicle my journey with jb hunt and the cs account. Having been a Webster driver I know full well what i'm getting myself into as far as deliveries to LI nyc ct and ma. The stores are hard to get to hard to back into and traffic both directions is horrible. Having said all that it would seem as though jb hunt has a better pay package then the previous company and the benefits at least on paper. I arrived for orientation today and so far it hasn't been so good. Very unorganized. Instructors can't run simple computer programs. Physical took 4 hours. Well actually 2 1/2. Someone had problems with the cup and ended up having to go home. Didn't get much done but nevertheless i'm still here looking forward to day 2. The hotel is real nice actually. We are in Middletown ny at a holiday inn. Apparently jb hunt is in dire need of drivers for these accounts hence the huge sign on bonus for all locations. A lot of trucks getting tore up going to stores and jb hunt doesn't understand this will continue to happen regardless of driver experience. Well that's enough for now.

Day #2. Much easier than first day. Usual boring ppwrk and then learning smith system. It is kinda stupid however I can see the validity of it as well. All in all everything is good. Have road test tomorrow and then were done which is a bit odd to do road test on last day I think but whatever. Anyone that comes to the cs account this hotel is real nice. will update tomorrow.

All done with orientation and training. Learned a few new things and most was just a refresher. Training was short due to having worked for Webster I really only needed to get familiar with the people net (which is a pain in the butt). Now just my opinion so take this for what its worth. This job isn't for everyone. if you don't like heavy traffic tight backing or nyc metro area don't bother applying. if you don't want to slip seat or think your the top driver in the world don't apply. However if your willing to come to work everyday and go where your assigned you will make great money and most importantly be home every day. Is Jbhunt the best company out there? Maybe not but I make really good money im home every night the benefits are really good. If anyone needs any information on the newburgh account or chester let me know.
As raven said on a different post there are freightliner and international daycabs. newburgh runs prostar daycabs and for the most part they are good. not a fan of the maxforce engine but the audio system is good and the turning radius is real good since youll need it.
