    In a weak economy companies can be picky about who they hire. Why would they consider you if there are other more qualified candidates? What are you doing to standout? No-one will give you the time of day from an internet app or phone interview. You need to be selling yourself in person. Squeaky wheel gets grease. Persistence...

    I live in Delaware. I don't know how I can possibly show up in person when nearly all of them are in other states.

    He was asking about the trucking business & that organization is a good first step in the learning process. No, it won't help him get a job, but it will help him going into a business with some guidance & perhaps keep him from making some expensive mistakes.

    You asked for advise then make excuses... Check local Delaware area trucking companies you're on one of the busiest corridors in the country I-95.

    this is a gut-check. Hearing the hard facts can sometimes be dis-heartening. The driving school is in business for the mega's, and the mega's have their own policies they have set in stone. For the most part in my time in the industry i've learned that a majority of all trucking co.'s will not hire individuals with felonies . The driving school is to blame for this, they know this. After a single background check, they all have th info at hand simply by running your dl#. Most people don't know this.
