hey every one, Im having alot of trouble finding a good company. I live in North East VT got my CDL through CR England, left for a while now looking for a good company to drive for. I have Limited experience, and Im sure a good number of people here are familiar with CR Englands reputation. So Im not exactly bursting with joy at the thought of going back to them, but every major company I talk to says Im outside their hiring area. Schneider, Western Express, Swift and so on. So any one know of good companies in the VT, NH, ME area that hire recent grads? I have about 2500 miles experience
Recent grad - good company in VT, NH, ME area?

u lasted one week with england?

Wow only one week. That is a record breaker.
Western Express will take anyone, just remember "forced miles" means you cant refuse the load. -
I'm not sure 2500 miles is going to amount to much for experience..prolly gotta start from scratch with a big company.
what happened at cre..why bail so quick? -
If you got your cdl thru England aren't you under contract with them?I don't think companies hire ppl while obligated to another company.

Don't go back. It's a life philosophy. Relationships, jobs, once they've failed, they never lose that negative color. Try Conway Truckload. They're OTR, but they have regional work with Conway Freight once you have some time. I went with them 3 or 4 months back, and they're a complete upgrade from CRE, and as good as any corporate entity. In fact, they actually take care of drivers, pay more. Forced dispatch is the only down side, but if you want to work that's not really a problem. You can't force a driver who wants to drive, and they never force against DOT regs.

I had a family emergency that lasted until just recently, but also after going to their school I had NO money, and they started me out at 12 cents per mile. and yea there was a contract, but its not binding, just says I stay with them for 9 months to repay my school costs, but as a fail safe they made us sign loan agreements so they are not out any money by my leaving. Worst comes to worst gonna have to go back to them, at least to make some money and plan my next move

Keep looking , check Careerbuilder and Indeed websites. Check Holland Enterprises, Prime Inc., Decker, Paschall Truck Lines, Melton Truck Lines, Maverick, Dynamic Transit.

You sign the contract and once you got your cdl you can quit anytime but you have to pay them 3000$ back or they will put it on your credit report.pattyj Thanks this.

$.12/mile? That's got to be a typo.
