I haven't seen E.L. Farmer out of Odessa mentioned in these threads-they delivered pipe to us last week-trucks were clean and well maintained, pipe was loaded and secured properly, and the drivers got right out and HUSTLED!-wore their PPE-even helped our guys out as we were short-handed. Seems like that would be a company worth looking into-I know they have been around for a long time.

Hello....new to this blog. Doing some applications in done research for my husband. Looking for crude oil or water hauling jobs in Southern, TX. He's got lots of experience and excellent driving record. So far I've done a little research on Gold Spur, Mission Petroleum Carriers and Sun coast. Interested in learning more about each of them (pros, cons, benefits and the cost the benefits. Also looking to hear other recommended good companies to apply to.

Anyone know anything about these companies? (Oxy, Conoco, Dupreligistics, etc.

My husband us looking to fill out some applications over the next 2 days. Everyones input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank-you in advance.:biggrin_25514:

Got a buddy who works over at Dupre and thinks highly of them, said they treat him and his family good. I talk to lots of Mission drivers up in N TX, they seem to be satisfied.

Thanks Rockdoctor...I have contacted Mission. Also hoping for a company that pays hourly. That is getting hard to find.
Going to research a few more places.

Sunoco pays .50 cents a mile and .23 to .24 cents a barrel depending on experience. Comes out to about 40$ a load plus mileage.

That doesn't sound that much how many loads are you running a day? I've read on some other posts some drivers are making between 250 to 400 a day some as much as 800 or is that just a lie?

    DTM Thanks this.

Sun Coast still pays hourly but be prepared for a long wait. It took 4+ weeks for me to get hired. Make sure every detail on the application is correct or you will have to do it over. If he has a pimple on his butt disclose it or they will find out and want the ap fixed. They ask for last 3 years on tickets but they go back 5 years and if it not on the ap you have to fix it. They will forgive a lot of things but they want it disclosed.
Their medical is 100% and free to the driver. Upgrades are supposed to be cheap for the family and a small deductible. I don't have enough info on the 401k yet. They have paid holidays and vacations but if you are scheduled to work on a holiday you still have to work. I think you will find that almost everywhere.

Fairly nice equipment but any rig that gets beat up 24/7 will break down occasionally. Very professional staff from what I can tell.

Mission may be hiring in south Tx but not in Corpus right now.

I checked out Dupre in Corpus and they are going to LP gas and not hiring for crude anymore. I go past their yard almost daily and their crude tankers are sitting there all the time.

Several people have posted negative things about Gold Spur on this forum so I steered clear. Your experience may be different. They advertise constantly which is always a red flag for me.
