why does it seem that most container chassis wheels have a wobble to them? I've never noticed it on other trailers, but all container chassis seem to have a noticeable wheel wobble? ?

847975f8-a45c-4016-af64-cd8d.JPG A lot of the chassis use Dayton-style wheels. The hub is separate from the rim. It takes care to keep the runout to a minimum when mounting them.

And all this time I thought it was just because most of the time they didn't maintain those fricken chassis.

Back in the days when cast spoke wheels were much more common, tire mechanics honed the skill needed to make them run true. These days, most of the industry runs disc flange wheels, and truing is a lost art.

    truckon and Hammer166 Thank this.
