Well, with my little lunchbox oven I can heat soup or beans, I can cook rice, I can bake a potato, I can steam vegies.
I use my 30 minute break for a Walmart stop, where I can get a whole cooked chicken to go along with that baked potato and vegy.

I don't need truck stop food to eat well.

Exactly what I'd do. A weekly stop in to a Walmart for my grocery shopping and that lunchbox heater is the way to go! I'd also spend a few hours, the day before I'd get back in the truck, cooking some home-cooked grub to reheat on the road.

Those small pots and skillets are better than a microwave you can have a meal the way you want seasoned and not the eay someone else cooks it like too much salt I use mrs. dash and I like rotisserie chicken by mc cormik also montreal steak for home cooking they turn out great and if you have the small crock pot those small liners are great for cleanup or put foil in the pots for easy cleanup save your fuel points for fridge and appliances like I did you save a lot of money not eating out of truck stops and its healthier

Thanks txtailgator, I know with the internet I can always look something up but I wish I had a dime for all the things I bought thinking it would be a great item to have only to find out it didn't work or was just a piece of crap and a waste of money. I guess the convenience of living at home for now has spoiled me into thinking that a microwave is the answer. I was worried about the power it would take to power a microwave. I know there are a ton of things that power up via the cigarette lighter but I just don't know what is the waste of money and what isn't. I seen a video of a small one burner propane stove that looked like it was pretty good and didn't cost a lot. I know about the Burton Stove and plan on getting one but sometimes I a fast meal is what the old man might need. I hate to sound like a Newbie but what is fuel points? As far as eating in a truck stop, no a big fan of it. Maybe every now and then but not into throwing money out the window for food that isn't good for you and makes you gain a lot of weight. Thanks again for your reply!!!!

Points are what you get onthose fuel cards for commercial drivers....aka pilot, flying-j, petro-ta, andothers every time you buy fuel or other things swipe the card to earn points then use the points to get stuff free.....

I don't even understand people complaining about trucking being a tough job
I started driving before power steering cell phones and gps
then ran fishing boats offshore on the atlantic for 30 years
this isn't a hard job today
turn in your man card if you think it is

now my microwave is enough to reheat enough meals to get by with
but I have a frig and an apu

    truckon Thanks this.
