Texas or North Dakota - are drivers still in demand?

I work in several different states but live in Texas. When I file my taxes, I file a 1040-NR for each state. NR stands for "non-resident." I usually get back all tax monies I have paid in over that year to each particular state.

Not sure how it works if you live in a state with its own income tax but work in Texas where we don't have state income tax. I'm sure there is some kind of work-around or deduction that you would get from your home state though.

Best thing to do is just move to Texas. We got a lotta room down here and everone's welcome, so long as they're not a troublemaker, or some kinda subversive commie or somthin'.

 

new to this site, and the forums...will be getting CDL soon, and have not heard anything about Colorado...a lot going on, but i do not see Co mentioned...

Those CO guys must be busy, busy, busy! Either that or they are all trying to keep it a secret, lol.

 

Yeah, it's my thread and nobody ever really responded with any solid info on Colorado.

 

They are busy and the Major Service companies have yards you can see from a couple miles away; well at least Big Red does... One thing that I always wondered; was when we did need help; why could we only get help from Alberta Canada! Yes people drove that far down to help out.

Everyone else I estimated had to be extremely busy.

Just my two cents.

 

So, if it's the usual suspects out in CO, then a search of their websites would tell you pretty much where and when they are hiring, right?

Just make up a list of the companies that do frac/trucking and start searching. If you do that you can probably come up with a wealth of hiring info for CO.
