    ^ This.

A bad company will eventually drive out employees who won't play their games.
And good companies will also drive out people who don't want to follow the rules, and put everyone else at risk.

rainyday lover and Purged Thank this.

New guys shouldn't be too afraid of the scalies. Generally if you treat them decent, act professional, give the impression that you're trying to be compliant they can be nearly human. If your dispatch wants to push too hard definitely don't be afraid to pull into the sfale or call DOT. They're like fishermen they would rather have the big one (management) 5han you the minnow.

Thanks. Any tips, advice on how to make your resume stand out? What got you guys in? You know they say first impression is your last impression, I'm going Red Deer to apply on Monday, anything apart from dropping my resume everywhere I can do to make my chances better? Thanks!

    6 weeks (straight) 2 weeks off 12-20 hrs/day it's a means to an end, not a career

If you're that worried about working long days might be an indication that this isn't the right career choice for you. My last job was 24-72 hours without sleep with half a day off and do it all over again! do what you have to do to get the job done! Some days are longer than others, but remember there will always be days off at the end of your rotation to rest and spend the $$$ you made. I work now for a big well service company who stresses legal logbooks at all costs. That works on paper, but not in the field. Some jobs you just can't shut down once it's started and we all know, in winter, things don't always go as planned. A 12 hour day can turn into a 20 hour day right quick!

Eagle Well Servicing and CASA in Red Deer both have "hiring" signs out in town.

    Hey northboundhound,

I'm in Red Deer. Have applied at all those places you suggested, and others who I could find. At Precision right now, dropping resume off. Unfortunately haven't landed any interviews yet and most of it has to do with HR people either out or busy. Anyway, here till office hours.

Purged, just hit every shop in the industrial area, side streets and cul de sacs too. You could hit sylvan too if you have time
