i have a 1995 perterbilt 377 with a 3406e cat and a 9 speed Eaton manual in it now and was thinking about putting an Eaton RTO16910c AS2 in it. I jsut use it as a toterhome and would like it for ease of other folks to drive. just was wondering how much of a job it would be to get all the electronics to work correctly or am i trying to do something that would be a big job and end up with lots of troubles.
thanks
1995 peterbilt 377 has eaton 9 speed want to change to eaton auto shift 16910c as2

Talk to the Eaton tech guys, they should be able to tell you if the Cat electronics are compatible with the Eaton ECU. I have used the Eaton tech line. They are very thorough, ironically I was discussing the opposite swap with them.

I have the same truck with the same situation. Did you find a solution for an autoshift??

Your ECM doesn't run the new SAE J1939 data bus required with auto-shift transmissions. you would end up having to replace the ECM from at least a 1997 model year engine too.
