You sound more like a recruiter than anyone else!

I'm heading over to landstar in a month and I have been asking drivers all over and I got "don't go under their insurance it's a bit high but is a good insurance", a whole bunch of different avg of rates per mile, and no one is upset with them.. Oh and my favorite that everyone says.. "Depends on how much lipstick you got on for the brokers.." Aka saying u have to kiss ##### for loads.. First of all.. They are there to get rid of the loads you call, ask a few questions ( FSC, detention pay, etc...) and YOU tell them yay or nay.. I am on the ic choice for Schneider now.. It's not bad but here you get 65% of the load INCLUDING the FSC.. I have to stay out at least three weeks to bring home some extra money.. And I'm going to ls cause 1. More pay, 2. More discounts on fuel etc.. 3. Specialized freight caught it makes it more interesting as I say lol , and oh did I say money!?!??!?! So that's my take on them so far..

As O/O for a few years with several companies Sunco was the only one I ever worked for and made any money. That was back in 2005. Until recently they were paying 70% of the load. Now I hear they pay .90 a mile plus FSC. I think the 70% was a better deal.

I have been with Landstar for about 6 months now and I really enjoy it. I am home on the weekends now and the pay is consistent. Once you start building a good relationship with certain agents the freight will be pretty easy to get, especially once you understand their freight lanes.

I would suspect freight for the most part coming to florida would pay pretty decent considering there's nothing coming out of florida that pays worth a darn for the most part.
