Thinking of buying a used Volvo, where do I find the equipment build tag, or sheet to find what is supposed to be in the truck?

Get the vin and Call Volvo or the sticker inside the door jam will tell you most of it! What are you looking at and from whom? There are some pretty knowledgeable guys on here that can help you as well. And I'm sure you will find my signature a bit informational!

I like to think I know what to do??????
2000 to 2003 pre EGR DD12.7 can't decide between vnm or vnl, don't understand the difference except vnl has a 56" setback.
trying to understand Volvo's model designations vnm, vnl, 42t, 64t, the last 420 to 880 equals cab length and if it is a condo 420 equals 42" 670 equals 67" measured frm back of drivers seat to rear wall. If this is wrong I would appreciate your comments

VNM models are the day cab trucks for Volvo. VNL models are the OTR type trucks like the 780. Just go to the Volvo trucks website and it will explain in depth what each model means

Who is arguing , both posted a decent response ?

VOLVO has strange MODEL configuration with a mix of daycab / sleepers with almost the same model # , the 42T and 62T were TALL sleepers ( Volvos way of denoting early versions of CONDO's )

10-14 year old truck seems a little old, you be buying a Tired Old Truck for the "Tired Old Man". I'm just saying you may find a good one that has been started to restoration but something tells me you are going to pay for it. I wish you luck.
