I don't know about the pay because percentages usually don't work in the driver's favor, but as far as driving team? My wife and I have been doing it for over 6 years together and we both love it. I guess if your marriage isn't strong it could lead to a divorce but then that would have probably happened anyway. It is a different kind of life but if you don't mind working hard together for a common goal it can be very rewarding. We work for Barr-Nunn out of Iowa and we earn .52 per mile and .04 more when we haul anything HazMat. They also put .02 per mile into our 401k at the end of the year plus safety bonuses every three months and bonuses for clean DOT inspections. We stay out usually for a month then take a week off. Due the math we average when we are on the road at least 4500-5000 miles per week. Oh and we are company drivers so it is their truck.

It's not that bad. We were offered 30% but I couldn't do it because of needing to be home with my son of course. If everything is paid for. Go for it!!

    Team? No.

    Maybe semi-team
As in do it for the fun - not for the money.

A full team operation means the truck will be running 20 hours a day, maybe more.
You would never see each other that much, except when switching seats.

But if you could choose your loads and how you ran, it might be great for you both.
