Hello, generalization. I have almost 9 years and I am coming up on my million. I play video games, playing one right now in fact, well it's on pause. Do experienced truck drivers also not join and posts to forums while they are on break?

Since when does Swift pull tankers?
I have plenty of respect for you old timers who do it right. I still maintain its more about a persons character that makes a safe driver than experience alone. -
But like you said alot don't have common sense. Everything is as easy as one wants to make it. Then there are some that can't figure out how to open the door.White_Knuckle_Newbie Thanks this.

They don't.. But their less than 3 year drivers have a special deal with the state of Wyoming to park in the middle of the freeway during winter time.whether they are shiney side up or down.
-
You play all night? Or do you sleep?
-
Exactly. That's why the hiring process has to vet out those who can't or won't handle what tankers require. Who would you rather have work for you? A 5 year vet from Swift in sweat pants, flip flops and tank top who thinks he knows it all or a recent driving school graduate who finished at the top of his class, communicates well and wants to learn?

Look, I agree that many in this industry are doorknobs but this industry just doesn't attract the best people and hasn't for a while. For a variety of issues people don't want to be a trucker. It's not just trucking, many service industries are hurting for good people. But we will always have to fight for good people because life in the road turns a huge number of people off. I don't have the answers but I do know that it isn't all the carriers fault, drivers have their share of the blame too.White_Knuckle_Newbie Thanks this.

Lol, no I sleep. I knew what you were getting at.
