DieselFuelOnly, don't do the lease brother. Your a good driver. I think now that you put the time in.....find a company that will pay you what your worth.
Or check out Tanker at Schneider. Get the experience with tanker then you can easily find a local job that pays the kind of money you deserve. -
Apparently I'm going to the west coast later this week so, maybe I'll stay put.

Training has been quite the experience so far. The classroom stuff last week was boring, but the driving and skills courses were pretty decent. They taught me some things I've never done before, so that's a huge plus. I got picked up by my TE at the Gary OC on Tuesday. He's been really fun to hang out with and he's a really good instructor. He told me today that if we were in Gary he'd kick me out of his truck because all he's doing is watching me drive and can't give me any pointers. He seems to think I'm ready to take my SQT right now. Makes me feel really good that he has that confidence in me. Schneider already purchased my bus ticket to go back to Green Bay on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to getting my own truck and start learning on my own without someone there to bail me out every time. Be safe out there everybody!!
Kutina Thanks this. -

Just rolled into the Obetz OC. You can probably recognize my truck by the one that is not lined up against ANYTHING in the yard. I tried to park nicely but I am so tired it just wasn't happening, so I gave it one pull up, threw it in reverse and stopped when my trailer was somewhat even with some object next to me. LOL. Made it up here from the Charlotte OC today. Finally sat down with my DBL today before I left out and discussed a lot of the issues that I've been having. I left pretty satisfied with our discussion and am keeping a positive outlook and expect to see improvement in my miles.
Although the IC contact was not there today, I did discuss Choice with my DBL and one of the higher-ups there, we discussed the circumstances of my accident, my expectations, etc., and I think they both thought I had a really good chance of getting on board. I was given a number to call in Green Bay, I called and left a message, and hopefully that will get the ball rolling. My DBL asked if I wanted to take a few more days off because I explained to the both of them there when they asked that I was interested in getting started with Choice ASAP. But, it sounds like it will take some time anyway so I might as well get the wheels turning in some kind of a truck anyway while I wait.
Headed up to Detroit. So fricking tired, I drove until about 2230 tonight, that's about 5 hours off of my normal schedule, but after getting such a late start today it was kind of my only option. I came through Obetz because I need to do my 3rd quarter safety training thing on the computer apparently. I'd try it on my laptop but God knows 99% of the time you try to use any of Schneiders website on a computer other than their own kiosk things, nothing works.
No idea where to next or how long I'll be out... all depends on how soon I hear back from Green Bay about me and Choice. I'm not getting too ahead of myself, but I am pretty excited about it becoming a real possibility for me now.
Anyway, its time for head to meet pillow for this entire 10 hour break.hal380, DoneYourWay, Skydivedavec and 1 other person Thank this. -

Looking forward to hearing about choice. I have been thinking about it myself. We have this one run here where I am at that is 600 miles round trip, drop and hook. Man if I could get that run everyday I would be set.
