I use the Walmart pre-paid debit cards for my wife and I. A lot of the TS have green dot cards that you can load your Walmart card with. I've found them at J's, TA and petro. Haven't looked at loves yet. It works great for me. Last time I used western union it was a $40 fee. Never again!!!
What's the best way of sending money while on the rd?

I didn't see you mention how you get paid so I will mention how I do it. The first company I
worked for paid me on comdata card. Now comdata will let you set up direct deposit...its a little annoying because first the money has to post to your card then you have to call comdata and transfer the funds yourself. This can tie your money up for up to 72 hours. If you are sending it to a family memeber who does not share your account, then leave a supply of comchecks with them and when payday comes authorize a comcheck. Your family member can cash it at a truck stop for a fee or deposit in the bank for no fee. (Yes banks take comchecks, but you may find the occasional teller who has no idea what it is). Word of advie have them physically cash the check first and deposit the cash.
With my current company I have direct deposit and handle 99% of any money transfer electronically...paypal works great -
You know bank of America let's you do account transfers thru the mobile app right? I have BOA and do it all the time

Get a second debit card, and leave one at home. I have direct deposit, and a card put away at home in case I need something done at the house by someone.

How do you guys prefer getting paid? Comcheck? Direct deposit? paypal?

Direct deposit. I can move the funds around where I want them myself. And I hate WalMart

Probably already stated but I am too lazy to look. BofA, Wells Fargo and Chase all have money transfer apps. I use Chase, it is called Quickpay. I send money to my kids all the time and I even make my truck payment with it. Cost is ZERO and it is instant. They do not have to have a Chase account. Anyone can receive it.

Yeah, get on the CB at the truck stop and ask if anyone is going toward your house. Would they mind taking this envelope with $1000.00 by your house. I'm sure there would be some trustworthy truck driver that would help you out.
After all, aren't we "Knights" of the road, you can trust any truck driver.
