When they were checking guys in Oklahoma they got a guy with red diesel that just came out of Texas. According to him it was a felony to be caught in TX with red fuel.

I do not know if this is true its just what the guy checking him said.

one farmer i know told me he has his farm tanks filled with on road diesel then files some paperwork saying that %100 of the fuel was used offroad and gets re-funded the road tax but runs the fuel in everything he owns including pickups and semi's but never has to be worried about getting dipped.

With the high fuel prices,hi INS,E-logs and HOS rules and CHEAP FREIGHT,you have to put the farm fuel in to make it anymore...:biggrin_2559:.....And don't worry about it.In 25 years i only seen them out 1 time..

If fuel taxes really go to the roads, it may be one of the few taxes I would agree with. I don't mind paying my share, I just wish the government would provide an itemized invoice indicating what my share is, allowing me to select the line items that are applicable to me, and not contribute to the things that I don't use, want, or agree with.

I have a couple of ranch pickups that rarely see pavement, that I run road fuel in. I try to beat taxes and government regulation at every turn, but fuel tax is one that I don't protest.
