I will be done with trucking school in about 3 weeks and want to go to either Shaffer or Crete.
I know they belong to the same company as does Hunt.

My question is this... Does Shaffer pull Crete trailers on a regular basis? I saw one going down the road this morning on a Shaffer tractor.

If they do it would seem like there are better opportunities with going to Shaffer than Crete.

Any info would be very helpful.

    Thanks,
    RA

Im starting with Shaffer next week. I was told that there would be times I would haul a Crete trailer. Didnt say how much though.

i talk to a many of both drivers out here who absolutely love the company, and it's usually about 75/25 on seeing them pulling one anothers trailers.

Here is the thing. It does not matter what you see going down the highway. Crete/Shaffer is currently issuing their trucks as first available. So many Crete drivers are issued Blue Trucks and many Shaffer drivers get Red Trucks. They have even started putting Crete/Shaffer logos on the doors whereas my old red truck merely said Crete. It is possible to pull a trailer, particularly an MT, that is not your mode. But rarely if ever do you pull a load that is not your Mode. I have been with Crete 6 months and have rescued a Shaffer trailer once where a driver had his truck go into the shop. That load was a dry load not refrigerated.

    Marky84 and BuckeyeCowboy63 Thank this.

I drive for Shaffer and I do pull Crete loads from time to time. Not too often but every once in awhile
