I agree with all of the above. You will also have loads that are very hard to get out of the trailer, especially when its hot and humid out. You will be swinging a dead blow hammer quite a bit. Its really fun getting ddgs, wheat mids, and a few other products out of the trailer on those 98 degree days with 90% humidity.

 

if you have problems on hot days wearing the PPE. I don't know if you can still get them. But it's like a blue ice vest that you freeze and put on when needed. I think they were called steelys. I worked for a haz mat company and they had a terminal in Phoenix . ANd sometimes would have to wear anything up to fully contained moon suits. They would grab a couple of those to wear.. And said they really helped. You might need to get a freezer in your truck to keep them frozen , but at least you won't get heat stroke as fast.

 

I just googled them. I never saw them before now. It looks like small packages so they look like the set of them would fit in a trucks ice box freezer. Not having a freezer would defiantly be a problem. What if you talked to the safety department, maybe they could get the shipper or reciever to let the company store them there. Most have a freezer someplace . Like the lunch room. And point out that a heat stroked driver is a driver in the hospital. Or a good clinic. I've never needed to wear them but he other guys said they work great.

 

I pull a hopper around local sometimes on % and it pays me pretty good...the rest is all pretty true though.

I love it but most of that comes from my farming background and the type of people the farmers we deal with are.
