Thanks for the info, this does signal a major shift in their operations.

There are other postings regarding Panther, the decent in the flow of business, the sale to ABF in June of 2012, and ABF's history buying into company's they know NOTHING about. Here's a link to message written by a 4 yr Panther driver:

GTennTrucker Thanks this. -
Didn't know how bad it was getting there. Have also heard there's problems at Express 1 since there buyout.

In my world (before retiring to go Otr) I've seen MANY corporate buyouts. Some work, and some don't. The ones that do work usually make a positive impact immediately. The ones that don't see a slow deterioration which begins in 6 months, and completely blows-up in a year. Andrew Clark saw the handwriting on the wall in 2 1/2 months. Since his departure in February, the crap really hit the fan. I still love Panther for what it once represented in the industry. My hope is that enough people will stand-up and say "We're mad as hell, and we won't take anymore"... I predict however that ABF will eventually sell Panther at a loss just like they did with Jevic. These people have a knack for claiming losses quit frequently.

Jevic was a really nice company and the only reason the owner sold was out of greed and because he wanted to start a new company. He said it was time to retire, yet he didn't.
