I would not recommend cummins or maxxforce. If a Pete, look for a Paccar MX.

The most reliable SCR engine is the DD15.

It's all personal preference man. For every person that has something good to say about your choice, you will have 3 people saying something bad. As for cummins vs another engine. I am personally waiting for the N13 SCR MAXXFORCE to land.

Why? Because the 2013 model of MAXXFORCE from what I have researched were actually pretty good and didnt have alot of the issues of the earlier models with the exception of being EGR based. The new cummins hybrid fixes that. Giving better power distribution, better regen, and better overall fuel economy.

I do believe it is already available on some of the 2014 pro stars. I'm waiting for it to be installed into the lonestar which should come early next year.

Don't buy a new truck if you don't have to.

I think there are lemons in all makes, just as there are stump pullers that never break down. Maybe its more of a what day of the week its made. Buying it new and taking care of it from day one along with how its driven make it more depndable IMHO. Fleets don't PM often enough to suit me I realize that extending intervals saves serious money knowing that it will be some one elses problem before it catches up with them.
