In the time Husband was there he never made it into a newer 700. He just traded one 660 for another with less miles on it. I'm sure you're right, Pete....as drivers quit and turn in their trucks, and depending on how many new lease and company drivers they get ...it would effect how quickly they rotate the drivers into different trucks. The second truck he had started costing a lot in repairs ...some minor but others were major, it also had the highest mileage on it when he got it. I can't remember exactly how long he had it ...I want to say less than 5 months.

even these 08 550000 mile company trucks are way above industry standard
biggest selling feature of transam is the nice trucks
everytime I think I have had enough
the next truck going by me has an ice cooler in the passenger seat
    no apu etc etc

I'm with you on the trucks! When you live in a truck for the most part and doing the job everyday with all of the frustrations, it is important to be able to relax and rest when you're off duty. You have to have a certain standard of comfort.... the capability to make a meal for yourself and get a good night's sleep.
As a company driver, TransAm is in control of where and when you fuel but never once did they question the fuel mileage on their trucks. Many companies make a big deal out of that.... and many of them are the ones that have no apu and will not allow the trucks to idle. That driver that Husband ran into that collected rocks ...LOL ...was a company driver for a well known major carrier ....no apu and not allowed to idle. I think fillin' the truck up with rocks was just his way of getting back at them ...or they had driven him over the edge!

Okay....what is the name of the receiver in Brighton, Michigan? Husband used to make a chicken run to there from Tyson ....they had overnight parking, were always pretty driver friendly.

good afternoon everyone. honeybadger, i know crazy things can get. i drove for over 10 years prior to my amputation. a friend of mine, who is a owner operator, wanted to check me into a mental hospital when i told him that i wanted to go back to driving....lol. i told him that even though we put with alot of craziness on the road, i enjoy going to different cities and taking in all of the scenery that this country has to offer. i just wanted to give you guys a little up date. talisa from recruiting called me this morning. she seems pretty nice. she asked me to sign all of the release forms and fax them back to her(which i did within an hour of talking to her). she then told me that if things go right, i should know in a day or 2 if will be invited to orientation. so far things are looking up. I have been thinking about doing a blog about what i have been through just to get to this point. i'm thinking that there has to be someone else there that is in the same situation. have a good evening and be safe out there.

Thanks you all. Yeah there trucks all look really nice. The reason I was asking is I'm 6'4" tall and 300 lbs. From what I have heard not much room in the 660's. I knows it's on here probably what is the average length of haul for you all?

Today is the completion date of my 6 month lease. I am still going to drive this truck until October 4th when my 680 comes in. My question is I am still entitled to my lease completion money correct? What I want to do is have Trans Am give me the money I have coming to me, and I will start over new with my new truck. Meaning no money in any accounts. What money am I entitled to? Maintenance account money? Performance escrow money? Lease Miles money? I think Im entitled to all of this money, other than what they are going to nickel and dime me for on the wear and tear on the truck. If anyone knows the answers to these questions feel free to let me know. I would appreciate it. What is the average dollar amount for a 6 month lease completion?
