I am glad to hear that you were treated so well. This should be the norm with any company, but sadly, it is not. I hope that your recovery is a speedy one.

Could you explain what you mean when you say most people think they are running legal when they are not? I thought if you where doing your log book right and staying with in the HOS then you were driving legal. Please explain.
What do you mean by eta's and pta's? Aslo, do you mean I should take a load if I still have hours to get it? What if I am close to needing a rest?
What do you mean by repower the load?
What do you mean by the that?(in bold)
I am asking these question because I really don't know and would like to understand what you are saying. By no mean am I trying to be a wise ###. Thanks in advance. -
My question is, did the ambulance driver and EMT chuckle out loud when called out to take someone to the hospital for laryngitis and a mild case of walking pneumonia? Or was it just a chest cold? I ask because you describe what appears to be a very abbreviated hospital visit. Seen in the ER then released, perhaps?
You'll need to toughen up a bit if you intend to make trucking a lifestyle. Good luck at Roehl. They seem to be a good company. -
The details I provided about my illness were abbreivated since that was not the purpose of my post. The point of this post was to let others know of the efforsts the Roehl company made to try and take care of me. Your assumption that I am a wimp and need to toughen up is unwarranted. You do not know the details of the situation, the choices I made about the hospital stay, the reasons for leaving the hospital or anything about me.

Worked for EMS for a while and I have to say that I loaded people in much better states than that into my bus. If you think you need the ambulance then call it. Oh, and yes at the end of the day we did chuckle at a few runs we made.

He believes that there are drivers for whom the hours of service are still confusing. I don't know who these folks are as that it isn't that complex. You are completely correct in that if YOU are doing your book within the rules you ARE legal. Repowering a load is often referred to as relaying it. You may pick it up at a shipper run it down the road a bit then pass it to another driver to continue on with it.

Question about the orientation(sp) for the new folks. If you are working out of Ellenwood GA. where do you go for oreintation?
-
Most likely it would be Ellenwood.

People will reply to what you post. If you leave out details then don't blame others for making assumptions. I wasn't trying to be mean to you. If you think my comments were mean then you need to order a Thicker Skin Suit.
Seriously, good luck to you. I wish you the best in your new career. -
I hear ya. I worked in an ER during college. I was amazed at the number of fakers we'd see every week. People craving attention or just looking for drugs. Their drama was humerous.
