Question???? Are there any drivers here on TTR that have done the Honors program recently? I have been looking to get back into a truck! I was an 88M (Truck driver) in the Army, I have been out for 2 years come Nov and have a few questions.

goblue who is a regular on these boards is in the Honors program; either PM him or wait until he sees your posts and he'll probably respond.

I have also chosen Roehl because of their Honor and Apprenticeship Programs. I have been talking with Jacob Howey who is Roehl's Honor Program Specialist. He has given me a lot of good information about both of these programs. I will be using my Post 911 GI Bill to attend RDTC. Looking to go around the first week of November. I had my DOT physical last Friday and will be calling Kim tomorrow to see if she received it. Good luck to you and thanks for your service.

Why would you use your GI bill on training? Is it not still reimbursed?

I decided to use it because I am running out of time on it. It is a use or lose thing. RDTC will only use one month of eligabilty on it. I still will have 35 month left on it after using it. The way Jacob explained the Apprenticeship Program I can collect a monthly payment from it while employed with Roehl.

If you use the GI Bill/Post 911 They pay for school and there is no need to do the 120,000 miles to ensure it is paid in full if it doesn't work out. Plus in the Apprenticeship Program the VA pays close to $1000 a month for the first 6 months on top of what Roehl pays you, then the next 6 months its around $600.00 and then $400.00 for the next year is what I have read on the VA website.

That's pretty much the same thing that Roehl's Honor Program Specialist told me.

    Fellow Veterans,

I just conditionally accepted with Roehl and will be attending RDTC on Sept 30. If anyone here is planning on attending on that date hit me up. As far as the Honor program the only experience is your own....
