My stepdad knows a chili farmer in the valley so he and my mom get it super cheap.

I make that turn just fine, with a 10'2" spread and back axle set at 77' long. Just swing wide when nobody is coming lol

Yeah, but we're talking about the same kind of widgets that manage to run the tandems halfway into the ditch when they get on 25 going north when they're headed that other direction!:biggrin_25511:

You would have been fine. My family homesteaded the Capitan/Ruidoso/Nogal area, so that's my stomping grounds through there, and I drive my truck up there all of the time. I will tell you that 380 between The 70 split and Capitan is in really bad shape, so next time, take your time and you'll be dandy. When you go through Capitan, give Smokey Bear a toot, and enjoy the scenery!!

there was a catering truck that was still serving the burritos. last time i was there. hauled a few onion loads out of that area last year.

and if you look at the atlas. half that journey is restricted. from nm 27 to us 180. the southern half before you get to I 40. or am i reading it wrong.
for the scared sheep comment. that was a valid question.

Re read my post for the correct context... my statement was aimed at the guy worried about the DOT Boogie man hurting his CSA score and being scared to step outside the safebox he learned about at school, not the OP.
