I was stopped in Maine on the toll roads by the DOT and they checked my log book and I was 2 hours off on my log book comparied to a toll ticket I had. I wasn't over on hours or anything but guy said it was falsification of log book and now I found out that its going to be a $910 and a criminal misdemeanor on my perminant record. Any Ideas what I should/need to do about this?

don't they still have to give you time to catch it up? they use to did they change that too? good luck.
-
Since most of the enforcement now days is all about the revenue, "catching up" isn't allowed much any more.
$910 and a criminal record???????????? good lord those law makers in that state must be really bored. That is just way over board. I don't think I would ever go back to Maine!
I would be consulting a transportation lawyer TODAY.
Google search Jim Klepper. -
Seems like a good reason to lose your toll receipts.
-
And then you'll be in violation of their laws concerning "supporting documents" -
Not necessarily true.
Many of the toll workers have been getting lax about even giving receipts. Occasionally, I have not been given a receipt so it is possible it happened again. -
Just doesn't make sense to me how I can get a criminal record but they let me go on my way when they were done checking everything else over on the truck. If I would have done something to warrent a record I would think I would have had to have been arrested or at least shut down?
