Not sure you comprehended my post the way it was meant to be.
.... But ok.
I don't even drive anymore, fyi. What's -my- time on the road have to do with his rant?
1. Usually you know where your going next before you get to your drop.
which I like for trip planning.
2. When you have to sit, they aren't real nitpicking about going to closest
truckstop, they don't leave you hanging out in vacant lots or next to road.
3. They are good about getting me home when I need it and are flexable
on time off.
Those are pretty important to everyone. Not sure why you would need to be driving for a long time to realize it. It's just common sense, man.

Sharkey's trip planning was one of the things I really liked about them. Would leave the house on Sunday afternoon, depending on where I was going, and drop on Monday am. By Monday afternoon usually know what my next couple load were going to be. Made planning out my breaks and routes a breeze.

Did he say that those were the "only" good things about sharkey? If so I must have missed it. Anyway, I have been driving for about 18 years and those things are very important as everyone wants to go home and everyone will have to sit at some point.

Anybody with sense would want good pay, good benefits, good equipment....miles miles and miles. Good trip planning don't mean squat if your going right down the road a few blocks. Most guys want is a fast clean truck anymore. Then they gripe about the company when they don't get the miles and make any MONEY. I mean anybody that works for a company and likes it can come up with more then 3 things.....

They seem to take care of the people that want to make a living and dont spend all thier time complaining. I made almost $60k last year and im home every wkend and off ANYTIME I NEED TO BE. I always use the tolls in chicago and never get any crap for useing them. You just have to take control of your dispatcher and get what you need.JohnboyTrucker Thanks this.

The people at sharkey are'nt any worse than the other trucking co. out there. Your insurance is paid bny company. You can run pretty much anywhere you want. They take care of thier trucks. If you have any problems you can always go to upper management an straighten it out. At least it works for me

All i have ever seen or heard was they were not a good company to work for for all reasons stated by original poster. I looked into when I moved to indi and just got the wtf look every time i asked. Enough Said for me.
