I am a mature newbee (65) with some straight truck . Anyone have any thoughts or experiences about Conway.Since I am not rich enough to go to ripoff trucking school I have considered Conway since they have a terminal near me(across town)and have a company school Its my understanding that if you go to training with them they make you a dock slave first and as they put it to get a better understanding of the trucking industry . I would like to know how long the time frame is before you get "promoted to driver"?
I have also considered Knight dry van.
Thanks for any info
Which company should i choose?

Old dominion has driver taining. Im going to dock then driver training at some point. OD you can go straight to driving and have to work dock maybe a week or two. Think its $12/13 hr while training.

1st of all...thanks for your service. I worked for TMC for 6 years and had a pretty good experience. If you would like some honest answers about them, I would be happy to help you out. Post any specific questions you have and I will get back to you. I would do it now but I have to go to work.

You got that right!!! Stay away from averitt specially the one in Fort Smith Arkansas. the terminal manager there is a big b*** hole.

does anyone have advice about attending crst 8 month program. i have cdl with a 5th wheel restriction as of now. good or bad id be greatfull for all advice

Hopefully you went with TMC. Getting flatbed experience now will certainly help you if you decide to go O/O in the future and want to pull platform from the get go.

Were it me...I would be saying "I have offers from Schneider and TMC". Werner and Stevens would be eliminated by the time the recruiter said "This is (insert name) with Werner/Stevens" CLICK.
And since home time is important to me, TMC boasts a "home 48 weekends out of the year" policy (and actually seem to stand by it)....that would eliminate Schneider.
But these guys are right---domicile is pretty important in making a decision (or asking us to help you make one). -
What is a 5th wheel restriction?

What company should I go with TMC or McElroy?
