I have been helping some friends from back home get jobs in ND, driving tankers. None of them have any oilfield experience, and most of them just passed their CDL exam. The economy back home has not improved at all since 2009 (despite Hussein's opinions) and they all hear about my paychecks out here. After losing their career jobs and taking low-paying survival jobs, they call me out of desperation. Sometimes I just get them in the door with a company to spare them Craigslist and the BS of working for strangers. Sometimes I actually sit them in the truck and train them from thiefs to valves. One friend said his CDL school used automatic transmissions in their trucks. WTF? Anyway, not all of them stayed in oil, but all of them were grateful for the money.
Have any of you haulers done this?
