Richter what kind of job should he apply for look I see your a new driver but there was time 75% of us here did sum crazy things past is the past he did his time I am so sick of you conservatives not wanting anyone to work and getting government assistance

I do not / will not hire drivers with DRUG charges and nothing to do with being conservative , we cannot send him to some customers as he needs to be BONDED , but gee DRUG charge no BONDING , send him to CANADA , drug charge on RECORD lets take a closer look at this driver causing more delays at the border.

 

I read every post before replying because I knew there would be someone condemning the poster,there always is on threads like this.Yes he was in the wrong and old enough to know better,but ppl make mistakes and deserve a second chance.Its unfortunate how unforgiving and judgemental the trucking industry is when offenses happen yrs ago.

 

Hi flatbed,you know I like you,you're an excellent member with great advice and most the time agree with you except I would like to give you my 2 cents on sending a driver to Canada with a record,simple solution to that is,don't send him to Canada,keep him in the states and send another driver.

 

I had a few trucks once....met a guy that had flunked a drug screen and no big companies would talk to him. He begged me for a second chance and told me a long sad story.....I hired him.

I'll never do that again....karma not withstanding ....he trashed my truck, refused to work half the time, was always late and really pissed my customers off....now one might ask..."what does this have to do with the OP's question?" to which my reply would be... he never stopped the weed and being a nice guy cost me big time.

 

My question is how long ago did this guy fail the test before you hired him?

 

About a year. I'd tell you the story he told me but I like you and don't want to make you cry....

 

You don't know me too well do you,I don't cry I get even,lol.Seriously though a yr I wouldn't trust anyone behind the wheel.That's not nearly enough time for rehibiltation.But back in 2009 to present without anymore offenses on his record,I would trust him.

 

I agree 100%. Suffice it to say I'll never do it again....these days I just drive the one I have....that's all I need.
