Are we really talking about the most broken, useless, and un-enforceable rule ever? Every driver I know has broken it, except me of course. If someone got fired over it then I think there is more to the story then just that.

To repeat, it's a company policy. The law requires a headset and you are not allowed to touch the phone at all. But SNI's policy is no phone at all. And the point of this thread is a reminder and they do check in Green Bay. Would hate to see anyone from the board get canned.

Hell, I wish I could figure out how to use my Headset! I bought it back in January and then never used it. I tried to get it set up last week so I could use it while outside the truck and I couldn't figure it out and I don't the little bookie anymore. Oh well

It is a company policy, period. Don't like the policy, don't work here.

I don't see the need to be on a phone while you are driving anyway, if something is THAT important, pull over and make your call. I had a motorist call in to SNI and tell them I was on the phone driving once(texting) when I got back to my OC I printed my cell records before I even went to talk to my DBL. I showed them to him and not a word was said about it.

Last spring Indy oc was offering a bonus to any one that brought in there cell phone bill to prove they don't text or drive. Lucky no driver did it. Don't b driving around the oc with your headset on, osr will pull u in if they want to. Singing policy 100% no cell phone unless parked

Honestly I don't have a problem with this policy. Their company, their rules, don't like it, other options exist. Personally, I don't feel safe using my phone while driving. I hate phones in general, so usually whenever I DO need to talk on the phone, it's because there is a problem, whether it has to do with Schneider, something at home, etc. Do I want to be trying to drive my 80,000lb vehicle, be watching out for other drivers talking on THEIR phones weaving their tandems into my lane as they pass at 75MPH, AND have a conversation in which I am frustrated at the same time? Nope. I'll wait until I can stop. Just my 2 cents.

Exactly...whether you agree or disagree with the policy, it is just that the fact remains it is a Schneider policy that they have zero tolerance for. They have said it over and over again, they have you sign paperwork over and over again that clearly states that violation of this policy is subject for immediate termination. Now just like anywhere else if you violate the policies then you need to man up and except the consequences for your actions!!!
