I worked for Knight Transportation for about 2 weeks. Ran about 1800 miles total and nothing on the brand new pete would work. Had enuff ants in the truck when i got in it to make the sci fi channel jealous. Also out of the 3 different refer trailers i pulled 2 broke down as soon as they were loaded and i left the dock! Not to mention the trucks wont idle at all between 32 deg and 70 deg. Not for any reason.

Could you do a poll to see who is the best of the best? It would be very informative and intertesting to see what the good comapnies are as well as the bad ones. Thanks

I've already got my "escape plan" in place. I'm already married to a foreigner and we own property in the Philippines. Beach front, and we have already built a house on the site for a fraction of what a "cheap" home would cost here in the US. So, about ten more years and maybe I can retire and get outta dodge. I still have to learn the language though.

I spent four years in the Philippines. It is a good place to be single. If you are married and she has any family, you will be broke. As far as speaking the language it isn't really necessary, (unless you want to know what they are saying when they talk about you) they all speak English. I know the Philippines all too well and if you don't, I would suggest going somewhere else, Thailand and Belize are better, maybe Panama.

The post said who is the worst to work for. I say that any company driver who is not paid for all of their time, in some way, from the time they start their day until they go off duty, their company is the worst!

I'd have to disagree. Noone forced any of these people into the job, they knew what they were signing up for. I spent a few hours on some steel the other day and got a measly $6 for it, but I'm not complaining because I knew it before I hired on. The place they sent me to... I could complain about that. Noone should ever send a newbie there.

Like our Presidential Elections, perhaps if we did not vote they would all go away? Do you think? Then perhaps Congress might take note we have serious problems, or perhaps most people would realize it and get their heads out of their closets. Like the Richest Man In Babylon who was faced into bondage for not being able to pay his debts, when ever there are opportunities to get out of debt and live well, one must always be ready to learn and take action. Most would rather be grease under rock so the stones can move smoothly while building the empires of the wealth. In other words, if you can't beat them, you have to join them. "Continue to serve the classes and always live among the masses, or Learn to serve the masses and take your place among the Classes!" My Vote? Their all bad for your health!

Wie Bitte? Yes, good plan. Many are escaping to Panama and loving it. Some are going other places in South America. Belize is a place some lawyers are going to.

The fact is this country has been sold down river and most (who) have just realized this, find they can't afford a boat. Waters 6 feet high and risin!

Nobody wants answers but everybody wants to complain!:biggrin_25523:

A second language of choice is a great idea but:

"Languages are key to getting out from under the capitalist thumb."

When you get out from under the Capitalist Thumb, what thumb are you under?

You only have three choices in life:
    1. Communism - no dreams allowed. All deemed necessary is provided.
    2. Socialism - all dreams are taxed to death to provide for social needs: i.e. welfare, big government, big brother.
    3. Capitalism- The only place where dreams may be realized by getting off your back side and learning how to deal with life rather than crying about all the negatives.

If you continue to serve the classes you have accepted Communism or Socialism as both Government or Taxes rule your future.

If you learn to serve the masses, you can take your place among the classes. This means of course, "If you can't beat them, you must join them!" If you do neither, you have joined the ranks of cannon fodder.

It is a Matter of Choice, but most prefer the "Happy Hour" routine of bit_hing about life and who's happy?
