If you say so. Waiting up on my buddy who forgot printing off his resume. I don't know how people can be so careless. Anyway, any names northboundhound, where we green hands will have the best chances

Green cats - ever thought about snubbing jobs?
Most dangerous job in the patch, but best paying.
Not sure who may be hiring, but class 1, balls of steel and willing to work outside will help.

    Just throwing it out there.

    I am so going Kelowna!

BTW Today's visit to Red Deer was surprisingly a pleasant one. Actually got to sit in an office and spoke to the right people. Canyon Technical were very welcoming. That went alright and they said they would call.

Trican's frac department! The receptionist, whoever she is, was extremely helpful. My favorite so far. The person who I spoke to at Trican said frac is very 'popular' with the guys. Not exactly sure why its so popular. Is it because of the nature (easy) of the job? Anyway, he also sent us to nitrogen dept. Couldn't speak to anyone there but dropped our resumes off there as well.

If you were in my shoes, what would you take if the opportunity presented itself, nitro or frac? I said No to cementing. Anyway, starting a part time job till I get a decent gig. Thanks northboundhound for the suggestions, one of these days I'm gonna have to treat you to dinner.

Sir, I'm willing to drive 8 hours to Kelowna, no problem. But, what makes you say hiring on the spot? I've never been to a job fair, but is that how they all work? They hire people on the spot? I mean, I've have to next to no luck with Sanjel so far. Dropped resumes, been to there shops twice, called many times. I was in Red Deer today and went to one of their shops and told their front desk girl to take down the hiring signs, I mean, at least have the decency to say no we are not interested and thats that. Why give false hope and then disappear. Ironically that got her attention and she got this douchebag to speak with us.

Hi Purged. Come dressed to work, including steel toed boots, full length pants or jeans and nice golf or polo shirt. Tell them you like their town. Mention that your personal vehicle is packed with 30 days worth of clean clothes, toiletries, and bedding. Come ready to work and ready to move into lodging in their community. Say you have checked Kijiji shared accommodation and found three places to your liking.

Arrive as a job applicant, but present yourself as a worker. :biggrin_25519:

    Purged and northboundhound Thank this.
