435/455hp VS 500/515hp is it just in the ECM?

    Detroit's I've been looking at new trucks and really not wanting something under 500hp but I've been told by two different sales people that you can upgrade the ECM to 500hp on a 435hp motor.
    i asked a few people and can't get a true answer

    Yep cuz if u dont have the drive train according to their specs they wont do a thing, on my last truck with a detroit thats what happened to me,i got pissed and just sold the truck, that 435hp is a dog...i hated that motor, sucked for mileage, and u dropped 3 gears on a hill

    Yeah like Casual Trucker above said... Call Detroit Diesel with the engine's serial number and they can give you the engine's specs right over the phone.
