IMO the top of that engine went dry along with the turbo.(s) No way to prove though. Get all you can from these folks and stay out of there in the future. You shortened her life.....no telling how much but you did IMO.
I personally caught oil truck filling different branded drums with same stinger at Truck King. I always watch everything too but missed this until after change was over, I was rehooking trailer on back lot when I stumbled upon it.
Man I was pissed !! shop upcharged me for Mystic too....... -
What moron puts on an oil filter and doesn't notice it's missing the o-ring? ... Then, the moron had to tighten it down and hear/feel metal on metal, and not that "gradual rubber tightening feel". That's way beyond poor workmanship and an "honest mistake" by an inexperienced mechanic.

Here is a lesson to learn, I don't just sit in the drivers lounge and wait for them to call me and tell me my truck is ready, I always stay with the truck and watch, I have caught things a couple of times, The T/A in Barstow, The part swapper, replacing the fuel filter never filled the filter with fresh fuel, I stopped him, and said, "why are you not filling the filter with fuel?" He tried to tell me, it wasn't needed, I told him to not do anything else, I went back to the counter and talked with the mgr, told him what their part swapper was doing, he came out and made him do it the right way
bullhaulerswife Thanks this.
