I'm in Tennessee. I would go back as far as 2006 for a truck as they will do what you want to do, usually have less miles and are compliant in all 48. A 1-2 year old truck will be loaded down with EGR equipment and will give you problems.

    Definitely join OOIDA.
I would look at used trade-ins at truck dealerships such as Volvo, Freightliner, etc. They keep the good ones and wholesale out the potential problem trucks.

Another place to look for used trucks is trucking companies selling their used fleet trucks. Some of those trucks are really nice and well maintained and equipped with APU's. Check their websites for what's available; a few are Melton Truck Lines, TransAm, TMC, Mesilla Valley.

OOIDA is really set up for the 0/0 and small fleet owner. It's a business website and organization. Best wishes. Check with Farm2Fleet; you pick your loads.

Thanks. All info appreciated a lot. I'm really working on this. Heads bursting but with excitement to keep researching and decide correctly before making rash decisions.

Wia? That's a grant for starting new business buying a truck or to get CDL School? I had my CDL for 22 years.
