Got a call today from Walmart. Was wondering if I should pursue this job or forget about it? Can't seem to find out exactly how they get paid.

Walmart is one of the premier driving jobs out there. The drivers are the only faction of that monster that are really respected and taken care of. You can make, without killing yourself $100,000 a year. I would go for it and good luck to you. If Walmart hires you, trust me, you've earned it.

WM has its own set of quirks, like any other employer. You know, do it their way (even it seems a bit anal). But for the money earned and respect given, I'd put up with it.

But if you don't at least pursue it, I think you're crazy. Good luck.

But in light! You may want to look on here and PM one of the guys at WAL MART and see what the pay is! "Wal Mart Here I come" I would cerrtainly do it, I am working through some issues and will be there as soon as I get those taken care of. Thanks

The problem is right now I have a premiere job working for a company. We deliver our own product and we just ratified another contract that puts us close to 60cpm in 4 years. Plus all the other benefits. I'm not sure what to do. But I will at least look into it.

I've done dedicated for Wal-Mart for several months. I'd do it again. They are a great company to work for.

The thing is this. From what I understand, they are contracting a lot of their driving these days to other companies (like Arnold, Swift, Werner, USXpress) and even though they appear ready to hire you it may still take a long time... know an ex-Arnold driver who they told to come on board and still made him wait for 2 months, still not sure if he's there.

I also heard they layed off their drivers last year from another Arnold driver who was offered a position, but decided not to go.

Whoa...that could change things. From that standpoint, you may not want to jump, especially if the company you're currently working for is a little more laid-back. WM isn't, from everything I've gleaned from speaking to their drivers over the years. I guess you'll just have to look at any difference in income potential, benefits, etc., and go from there.

I love my freedom to much to work for Wal-Fart..If wal mart called today i would say No Thank You...

    Money is NOT everything..

I know some guys that work at Yellow,New Penn,Wal-Fart,Wegmans and make 80-120K a year..They are the most unhappiest miserable people i have ever met..They are led around by there ear and ''have'' to do what there told,OR ELSE..I see there familys and there wives suffer because of this treatment by the Companies.

I know some that are company pee-ons making 20K a year and they seem HAPPY...So this is all RELEVANT to a persons own needs...What i need and you need are 2 different things. So you alone are the only one that can see if it is a ''fit''...

I myself will take my Freedom to come and go as a please AND others will say i am nuts.....To me it is worth 1 Million to be on my own and make my own....
