Is it the law for a trucking company to give you a bus ticket home if you quit?

Nope. It's ok though I think I dodged a bullet there anyways. :)

If the company doesn't want their equipment abandoned, they better provide a bus ticket home!

If you ever want to have a decent job in the industry, you don't abandon your truck. That will follow you.

They got that covered too. Yes we will buy you a ticket. Then when you show up you are escorted off the property. :)

Don't get sk-haired newbies, normal protocol is a ticket home unless you done something bad like lying on your application or failing a pre-employment drug test.

A bus ticket is $99 almost anywhere. Surely one has relatives or a credit card.

Bad attitudes and bad companies kind of go hand in hand. If you develop an attitude a dispatcher relationship can sour quickly and then they start playing god with your arse. Take the bad with the good, pay your dues and when a dispatcher knows he can trust you to take care of a load with minimal effort heshe will start taking care of you. With a good attitude then you have a good company.
