Yes they can most defiantly .. There also has to be a edit button, ever made a mistake and went to bed just to wake up the next morning to realize you forgot to go to the sleeper burth.. There has to be a way to fix it. Anytime I've had to have the company edit a log that I couldn't I always got a message as stated above to review and approve the logs

Here's what those companies don't think about when they change you log. I'm waiting for the day they change some driver's log to make it work for them, the driver gets in an accident and they find a receipt in his pocket time stamped and the logs don't match that receipt of where he was............

Lets face the facts!!! It doesn't matter if you use paper logs or elogs, the regulations are the same. The DOT/FMCSA tells us what they are...like them or not we know we are supposed to follow them...So if a dirver chooses to let the company they work for edit and change thier logs SHAME ON THE DRIVER!!! There are LOTS of companies hiring safe profesional drivers right now. Personally, I think elogs are a drivers best friend. In a society that is just looking for the opportunity to slap HUGE lawsuits against truck drivers and trucking companies you better believe a company that changes and edits a drivers logs for thier best interest will be pretty quick to throw you under the bus. There is a HUGE paper trail with elogs, in a court of law those records would implicant the company as being the party that edited the logs if a company is willing to do that for a few extra bucks, I would reconsider my employment decision. My personal opinion elogs are the way to go. I guess it would also matter why a company uses elogs...by thier choice or were they forced to use them because of a bad safety rating???
